San Antonio Silver Stars vs. Atlanta Dream
Jia Perkins
Jia Perkins shot at an incredible rate of 64 percent from the field including 2-of-4 from the long range as she led the San Antonio Silver Stars to a hard fought win over Atlanta Dream. Perkins was 9-of-10 from the line and ended
with a game-high 25 points and eight rebounds for San Antonio. She scored 13 of her points in the last two quarters of the game as the Silver Stars outscored Atlanta 52-45 in a tightly contested second half.
Danielle Adams
Danielle Adams was came off the bench with 19 points; including a huge put back with 1:30 remaining in the game to give the Stars a 83-81lead. The player also contributed four rebounds and two blocks in the victory. The rookie
forward finished the night on a 60 percent shooting from the field and also pinned 6 of 8 free throws.
Becky Hammon
Guard Becky Hammon was the third major contributor for San Antonio, finishing the game with 17 points, six assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block. The player nailed a three-pointer midway through the second period to put
the Silver Stars ahead by nine points – their biggest lead of the game. The 34-year-old drew a foul from Courtney Paris of Atlanta and hit a pair of three throws to make it 81-79 with 1:53 to go and the Silver Stars never trailed for rest of the period.
Coco Miller
Coco Miller tried her level best to give Atlanta the win but the opponent team turned it on down the stretch to put the game out of their reach. The 32-year-old veteran finished with a team-high 19 points, shooting 7 for 14 from
the field, and also pinned three 3-pointers.
Angel McCoughtry
Angel McCoughtry pounded 15 points, clutched eight rebounds, dished out two assists and grabbed two steals in the loss. The player finished with a 5 for 10 shooting from the field in 18 plus minutes of action.
New York Liberty vs. Los Angeles Sparks
Cappie Pondexter
On Sunday night, Cappie Pondexter added the spark that the New York Liberty needed for the victory. The guard scooped out 22 points along with seven boards and five assists, hitting 3 for 4 from three-point range. The 28-year-old
broke the game open in the second quarter when she scored eight points in just 39 seconds.
Candace Parker
Candace Parker notched 16 points for Sparks via 7 for 12 shooting from the field. She also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds. However, the efforts of the 25-year-old could not save the Sparks from a 77-67 loss.
