Jiaming Tao, Bao Yixin ensure their presence in Mixed Doubles quarter-finals – China Masters Update
Mixed Doubles partners Jiaming Tao and Bao Yixin showed superb coordination and gained access to the quarter-final round of the Li Ning China Masters on September 13, 2012.
They intercepted Teik Chai Gan-h*i Lin Ng of Malaysia in the opening match of this Super Series and qualified for the round of eight where they will lock horns with another Malaysian pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying.
The twosome of Jiaming Tao and Bao Yixin has proved its worth many times before and now they are striving to stamp their supremacy in home event.
They have started the campaign in perfect fashion as both shuttlers took just 28 minutes to seal a splendid straight-set victory with 21-17 and 21-16 margin.
This tussle was staged at Changzhou in China and the native shuttlers had a huge support of local crowd.
They pocketed full benefits of this edge and kept the opposing team under their influence throughout this match.
Jiaming and Bao made their intentions clear straight away in the opening game as they did not waste time and bagged first set with a notable lead in the final result.
Though, Teik Chai and h*i Lin made every effort to avoid an immediate blow but both teams were poles apart in terms of performance.
The Chinese campaigners finished first half of the set with an indomitable score of 11 and then magnified the impact by registering a winning figure of 21-17.
Next game kept swinging between both teams until half time but then Jiaming-Bao struck hard and tipped the scale in their favour.
In the beginning, the Malaysian shuttlers prevailed in a couple of uninterrupted rallies and established a decent lead.
Despite of the mistakes, they maintained the upper hand until one-minute interval but the latter part of the game saw them repeating previous mistakes which ultimately cost them a vital match point.
Jiaming and Bao did not squander this opportunity and stormed back with a strong reply. They established their grip over the game with a decent margin of 15-12.
Later, they put a lustrous performance and pushed the opposing team into the dark with the score-board flashing 21-16 figure in their favour.
