Jian Guo Ong and Khe Wei Woon claim Mixed Doubles title at Maybank Malaysia International Challenge
Malaysia’s in-form shuttlers Jian Guo Ong and Khe Wei Woon showed a staggering performance in the arena and won the Mixed Doubles title after defeating Indonesia’s Lukhi Apri Nugroho and Annisa Saufika in the final battle at Maybank Malaysia International
Challenge 2012 on Sunday, November 18, in Kuching.
The impressive Jian Guo and Khe Wei, who were seventh seeded players in Mixed Doubles main draw of the championship, showed a wonderful performance in the arena and managed to win the championship match in just 29 minutes.
Jian Guo and Khe Wei showed a great performance in the arena as they played with remarkable precision and showed no respect to their Indonesian rivals all the way and ended up the match in straight sets with a crushing margin.
On the other hand, the third seeded Lukhi Apri and Annisa Saufika were shocked with the cruel treatment they received from their lower ranked local opponents.
Indonesian shuttlers failed to play positive badminton throughout the final match and eventually lost the match to their seventh seeded Malaysian rivals without putting up strong resistance.
Right from the starting rallies of first set, Jian Guo and Khe Wei played with tremendous precision in the arena and they remained successful in setting up a huge lead until the end of opening half.
After the one-minute break, the impressive Jian Guo and Khe Wei did not show any sign of confusion as they remained in complete command of rallies and maintained their supremacy in the arena.
Jian Guo and Khe Wei were organised in the arena as he did not show any sign of confusion and they easily finished up the opening game with a killing 21-11 score on the board.
In the following game, the seventh seeded Jian Guo and Khe Wei played with reasonable speed and again set up a wonderful lead until the one-minute interval.
After the break, the in-form Jian Guo and Khe Wei were at the best of their form without losing their focus at any stage in the game and managed to win the set with a 21-14 score on the board.
The lofty Jian Guo and Khe Wei won this Mixed Doubles final match in a completely lopsided manner with a crushing margin of 21-11 and 21-14.
