Jie Yao crushes Karina Jorgensen in the Women’s Singles semi-final of the 2011 Dutch Open Grand Prix
Netherland’s Jie Yao proves her superior skills as she crushed Denmark’s Karina Jorgensen in the Women’s Singles semi-final of the 2011 Dutch Open Grand Prix, at Almere, Netherlands, on Saturday, October 15.
The Dutch shuttler, who is the second seed in the Women’s Singles main draw of the tournament, lived up to the expectations of the local crowd as she defeated the Danish opponent in a convincing fashion. She finished up the match in straight games by taking
35 minutes in the court.
Yao played terrific badminton in the first set of the match when she rushed towards the end of the set. She took an early lead by playing to her full potential and remained successful in building up a comfortable gap until the break.
After the interval, the Dutch shuttler continued her smooth run in the match by playing flawless badminton. She showed no mercy to her opponent in the whole set as she made no mistake in executing the points. Herr wonderful fast drop shots and powerful smashes
earned her opening game with a 21-11 score in just 14 minutes.
The second game was interesting in the opening few points when both ladies remained close by playing at the same level. They played attacking badminton and the score progressed closely. Until the break, the local shuttler could manage a two-point gap.
After taking a short break for 60 seconds, Yao started to play fast game by employing wonderful strokes. She spared no chance for her rival to compete at the same level. Her impressive drives coupled with net play earned her a considerable advantage over
her opponent.
The Dutch lady remained on the right track as she stretched her lead by playing positive game. The planned and impressive play Yao helped her to finish off the second set with a decent margin of 21-16 in 21 minutes.
This Women’s Singles semi-final contest ended up in the favour of the Dutch shuttler, who won the battle with a 21-11 and 21-16 score on the board.
