Jillnextdoor set to shine in Totepool.com Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar
Despite the presence of a lot of giants, Jillnextdoor deserves the highest respect in the Totepool.com Two-Year-Old Trophy (Listed Race) at Redcar this weekend. The 2-year-old recently got her act together, demonstrating a couple of fascinating shows last
month.
After running several good races without any success, the Mick Channon-trained finally opened her account at Ffos Las in mid September, when taking a comprehensive win over Starlight Angel.
In the Walters UK/British Stallion Studs E B F Maiden Fillies' Stakes, the 5-6 favourite ran superbly in the hands of Sam Hitchcott. She retained her lead throughout the race, and pumped up her pace to stretch advantage in the final moments. With the help
of a flawless act, the filly seized the first rank by three lengths.
Her latest act was also superb. On her very first start at the highest level, Jillnextdoor showed plenty of determination, although she failed to make it to the top-3.
The Group 1, Jaguar Cars Cheveley Park Stakes was a very close contest, and the daughter of Henrythenavigator did a wonderful job to confirm a place among the top five positions. She missed the fourth spot only by a nose.
It was certainly an impressive performance, because the course suited her in no way. Owned by Nick & Olga Dhandsa & John & Zoe Webster, the bay filly has clicked of late, and carries obvious chances on last week’s decent Group 1 effort.
A huge line-up is waiting for her in today’s class 1 meeting. A total of 23 horses have entered the race. The entry of many was expected, as the 6f meeting carries a huge prize worth £125,386. According to the plan, the action will be begun at 15:45 GMT.
Body And Soul is a progressive sort, who recently strike hat-trick. The Tim Easterby-trained is in good form, and can offer more. Hototo will feel happy on return to six furlongs on slower ground. So, Kevin Ryan’s charge should not be ignored.
There are plenty of talented runners in the crew, thus a close battle is on the cards. Jillnextdoor has recently shown a lot of progress, and seems to be the one to rely on. Good luck to all the horses.
