Jim Bolger hopeful of winning King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes – Horseracing News
Jim Bolger is hopeful that his challenger Trading Leather will be able to make a strong impression in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in England at the end of this month.
The young challenger was victorious in his previous race, where he stunned his rivals to claim the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. He has been really impressive during the ongoing season and will definitely be a force to reckon with
in the upcoming races.
Although the Irish runner debuted in 2012, he has gained quite a lot of experience since then. He started off with some smaller races, but went onto take part in some major competitions afterwards. Moreover, he did not take any
pressure from his opponents and always managed to give them a tough time.
Towards the end of the 2012 season, Trading Leather failed to continue his impressive form and struggled in an important race. It appeared that he would be under immense pressure at the start of this year, but he did not panic
at all and kept on making his camp proud every time he stepped out on the racing track.
As a result, Bolger is really optimistic at the moment and believes that his stallion will be able to carry on his winning form. He claimed, “Trading Leather is fine and on course for the King George. It was a first-class performance
in the Irish Derby. He ran right to the line in a fast time and came out of the race very well.”
He went onto say, “It gets a bit tougher now he is stepping into open company, but I am hoping he is up to the task. Like St Jovite, he is a good Derby winner and I'm hoping he will continue to progress from here. He doesn't like
soft ground but after that he doesn't mind.”
Things will not be easy for the talented performer, as he will be up against some extremely strong opponents, who are capable of dominating the competition. All in all the contest promises to be an exciting one and all of the horseracing
fans will be looking forward to witnessing the action live at Ascot.
