  1. Same outcome as Foreman vs. Frazier.

  2. Frazier KO's Jeffries late.

  3. This would be a slugfest of gigantic proportions.  Both men are well known for their great left hooks especially Frazier.  Jeffries is the bigger and stronger man and could withstand punishment and had great stamina and endurance.  Neither man would have to look for the other in this fight as Frazier only knew one way to fight and that was straight ahead.  Jeffires would gladly oblige as both men would trade vicious punches with neither man giving an inch.  The stronger Jeffires would use his great strength to his advantage especially when he needed to tie up the aggressive Frazier.  Both men would land an incredible amount of power punches during this great fight.  In round 9 Jeffries would almost knock out Joe as he would send him stumbling against the ropes but Joe would hang on and come roaring back to win the next two rounds.  In the championship rounds, Jeffries would manage to land a higher volume of punches and win a split decision.

  4. Big Jeff didnt make my Top 12 list.  He was barely edged out by two fighters he would actually beat.   The reason they make the list and Jeff doesn't is because each would beat others to whom Jeff would lose.   Jeff would suffer more losses than these two.

Joe Frazier was great.  However, when you take away the 71 victory over ALI you must take a careful look at the rest of Frazier's career.   He suddenly becomes a lot more human.

Styles make fights and there would be no searching in this fight.  Jeffries was a solid 220.  Frazier was 205 when he bested ALI in 71.  He was never the same after that fight.  He give life and death against Ali in 75 but I have aways maintained that ALI would have a harder time with certain fighters than someone like Holmes would.

ALI stopped Joe in 14.  Holmes would have stopped that version of Frazier in 11, max.  This isn't saying that Holmes was better,  only that styles make fights.  Holmes hits harder and Joe didn't have the greatest chin.

My point?   Given that fact,  I dare say Joe would meet his maker here.   Joe would certainly hit Big Jeff with some haymakers.   He would fail to put Jeff down while taking punishment of his own.  Its actually simpler than you might think.   Joe wouldn't run and never bothered to clinch.   IF you think Jeff won't land a few times you're not being realistic.

Jeff could punch and it wouldn't take more than a few times for Joe,  and everyone else, to learn this.  Frazier does make my Top 12 but he doesn't get this one.

By the way, the other in my Top 12 who would lose to Jeff is Dempsey.   Again,  it's all in styles.

    Jeffries by KO in 8

  5. My Man ---Jim Jefferies would win .--- In his prime Jefferies was never defeated or knocked down. He had an iron chin, a shell-like defense ( fighting from a crouch ) & was fast ( could run 100 yard dash in just over 10 seconds ) & had unmatched stamina ( 25 round war with Sharkey ) & could punch so hard that  Fitzsimmons ( whose ribs were broken by Jim as were Corbetts & Sharkeys ) said that when Jefferies hit you " it felt like the punch went through you ". Jefferies offered to fight Fitz + Corbett + Sharkey all on the same night but they refused. Sam Langford placed newspaper ads offering to fight any man in the world except Jefferies. Jim scored the fastest KO ( 55 seconds ) in  any Heavyweight Championship Fight.----Jefferies by KO.

  6. Joe Frazier

  7. i pick frazier here in a battle fought at centre ring throughout.

  8. Jim Jeffries.

  9. Joe Frazier would KO Jeffries in one h**l of a vicious slugfest.  That left hook would be the difference.
