Jim Rome says E.Volquez is the best SP in baseball?

Disagree completely.  Lets wait and judge how good Volquez is after he faces all these teams 3 or 4 times and see if he still dominates like he is now.  I would take Brandon Webb over him in a second.  Wins 16+ every year, he is the number 1 SP in baseball, period.

Let's wait until the end of the season to see what his record is.  Last year he was in the AL playing for the Rangers and now he is in the NL with the Reds.  Clearly switching leagues helped him and hurt Santana but will Volquez be able to continue being this good next season once everybody knows how he pitches?   Volquez is better than Cueto but is he better than Homer Bailey....is he even the best SP on the team?

Hes definitely exagerating but hes great. I would probably say Webb or Peavy.

I disagree. I love Rome, but he's wrong on this one. If we were sticking in the NL I'll take Jake Peavy all day over Volquez. I'll take him over Zambrano, Santana, and Webb(very close second). Shift gears to the AL I'm still taking Peavy. I love Beckett, Lee is having a stud year, Halladay is great but Jake Peavy again hands down.
