Real Zaragoza coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manolo-c23349 Jimenez, claims his side gifted Levante the three points after the visitors secured a 1-0 win at the Romareda stadium.
A single goal from Ruben Garcia on the 19th minute of the game enabled the Granotes to come away with all the three points. It was a valuable win for Levante as they continue their struggle for a place in Europe.
The result keeps Levante close to the fourth-placed Malaga. At the moment, only one point separates the two.
On the other hand, Zaragoza’s defeat at their home turf is a big setback to their ambition of finishing this season in a higher position on the table.
The Zaragoza boss has bemoaned his team’s lack of concentration at the back. He described the goal they conceded as a gift and said that should not have happened.
“We gifted them a goal from our questionable defending,” he told a Press conference. “And that should not have occurred.”
The Spanish tactician mentioned the fact that his team always goes out to win games. However, he felt this time his side deserved to at least get a point from the match.
“My team only goes out to win matches, but sometimes you have to evaluate when a point is enough.”
Moreover, the Spaniard stated that he doesn’t want to take anything away from Levante as they took their chances in the game. He also talked about the fact that they are having a great season so far in the domestic league.
The 48-year-old tactician described the Valencia-based club as a team that knows what they are doing and what they want.
“I do not want to detract from the great season Levante are having though.”
“They have very clear ideas and know how to make the most of their chances.”
Zaragoza are currently sitting on the 14th position with 19 points. Although the defeat was a setback for them, they can still push for a place in Europe if they can manage to put together a few good results.
Next match in the Primera Division, Real Zaragoza will travel to San Mames and face Athletic Bilbao.
