The former Sevilla manager was happy after Real Zaragoza triumphed over Valencia at the Mestalla, thanks to a brace scored by Apono.
Pablo Hernandez started the proceedings at the Mestalla as he gave Los Che a goal’s advantage with 9 minutes on the board. Los Manos midfielder, Apono, returned the match to parity at the half hour mark and sealed the match from the penalty spot in the second
half.
Los Manos showed great efficiency on their away journey while their hosts failed in front of the net. Real Zaragoza had goalkeeper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-Jimenez-c31343, to thank for, as he kept his team in the match with acrobatic stops during the duration of the fixture.
After his team's important victory at the Mestalla, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manolo-c23349 Jimenez was pleased with the win. However, he added that despite the three points, they must play with the same intensity in their rest of the matches until survival is guaranteed.
"It would be a shame to be down to one month view. We owe it to our fans who have suffered, but despite the victory we will not want to look beyond, we would take heart and do not want to think a lot because we are the last."
"It was an important victory against a great team and has come by caste and courage of a team that played 70 minutes with ten before the full potential of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 in their ground. Nothing has been booked and these players deserve a win like this" he added.
When quizzed about the importance of the victory and will it propel them to greater success, Jimenez said that they will use it for motivation and nothing else. He stated that they have tough fixtures ahead of them and they will try to concentrate on one
game at a time.
After a woeful campaign, Los Manos have 22 points to show from their 28 La Liga outings. However, they have been rejuvenated in their last 8 domestic fixtures, picking up 10 points in the process.
The Aragonese outfit welcome Atletico Madrid to La Romareda in their next league outing on Sunday, March 25th.
