Jimmer Fredette still waiting for the official invitation into NBA “green room”: NBA Draft Update

Jimmer Fredette, the leading scorer of the National Collegiate Athletic Association or NCAA Division I has not received an official invitation of the NBA’s  “green room” so far. Green room is the place where the best draft prospects
sit and wait for their name to be called in the draft.
Addressing the issue, Jimmer's father Al Fredette said, "Some kids have already been invited. It happens as the workouts continue to be played out and they see how those kids do and then they try to put that in the mix. So we're
thinking that in the next day or two, we'll get an invite down there, but we will see how that goes."
The 22 year old guard has earned different awards over his excellent performances during his college basketball career. The 6 ft 2in power forward is now looking to thump the same impression in the NBA and has already impressed
many scouts in the league with his game.
However, General Managers of NBA believes that he needs to work on his defence; otherwise he will have a tough in matching up against the top players of the league.
Fredette said, “I thought I could have done better on the defensive end of the floor. Definitely, there were times I was lacking there and times when I was more intense. At this level, I know I’m going to have to give a consistent
effort, and I’m looking forward to doing that.”
Fredette’s hard work at the practice sessions of Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns haven’t gone to waste, as each of the franchises has admired his game. He is definitely going to be
on their radar in the 2011 NBA Draft which will be held on Thursday in Prudential Centre, Newark, N.J.
Jimmer’s father told that although none of the teams have made any promises, but he found Pacers Larry Bird very keen to have Jimmer on his team. The Pacers have the 15th overall pick in the draft and it remains to be
seen whether Fredette will be around that long.
During the 2010-11 season Jimmer played 37 games and spent 35.8 minutes on the court in each. Fredette scored at an average of 28.9 points per game, provided 4.3 assists and clutched 3.4 rebounds per game.
