Jimmie Johnson--a party-pooper? Possible a 3-in-a-row?

Okay, what Jimmie Johnson showed at Cali should have caught Busch and Edwards attention, who have truly dominated this season. Is he like the... what do you call it... I just can't remember. The one who comes out of nowhere, one who has shown himself already, but laid low for a while... He lets 2 others dominate... Then he surges... It's like a really good plot of a movie! I just love it! I just don't know how to describe it, but it's just interesting...the way this season is shaping up.

Okay, I think I can try to relate to the ladies. [No g*y stuff] Okay, there's 3 hot guys... You root for all of them. Don't want any one of them to win or be the hottest, but just the excitement they bring is what makes it cool. Do you get me?

Whatever...

But, anyways, what do you think?

  1. I have been saying it all year.Chase time is Chad/Jimmie time.

Look if he can beat gordon last year with his record 30 top tens and 400 point lead. He certainly can overcome the Carl and Kyle show.

I hope I am wrong. When the cup is hoist .Expect it to be the 48 car team as the recipient.

  2. i agree with bestanswer i don't think Jimmie will three- peat i really think Kyle has this one.

  3. I can only hope and pray.

    Go Jimmie #48

  4. Since there is a premium on winning, I say Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, and Jimmie Johnson are the top drivers now. Junior is a dark horse but he has been consistent all year even though he only has 1 win. Jimmie Johnson is not g*y. Have you seen his wife?

  5. Anyone who had counted Jimmie out, has obviously never paid attention to Jimmie Johnson.

I've been saying for a couple of months, he's "lurking"

I've been waiting for him to make a move.

And some of us ladies could relate without the whole "hot guy" scenario. Some of us get the in's and out's of NASCAR.

  6. Jimmie can't win this year...they left the cheat button out of the CoT

  7. Ha ha, you said Jimmie... and p**p... but yeah, Jimmie's definitely a threat.  Earlier, I was kinda counting him out because of the inferiority of Hendrick equipment this season... but it looks like Chad's gotten back on his game.  This chase is going to be SWEET!  Three drivers, three teams, three manufacturers all vying for that big ol' championship.  Look out!

ETA: g*y... disgusting? Did you need to put that in your comments?

  8. Johnson has been just awesome in races leading up to the Chase ever since it's inception back in 2004. When he gets into the Chase him and the entire 48 team just show up with fast cars right off the hauler and are the best team in the Chase. If I recall the 48 team has won the most races in the Chase which is where the 48 team just clicks on all cylinders in all races in the Chase.

The 18 and 99 ought to be real worried what the 48 did last week could be a preview of what he is capable of doing in the Chase. The 48 is the favorite in the Chase followed by the 99 and 18.

  9. I don't quite know how you can say he's been laying low when he is the back to back champ but I think I get what you are saying.  There has been a big target on the 48 car for 2 years now.  He just started a little slow and was behind a bunch of teams early in the season but everybody knows that the 48 team knows how to close the deal when it counts.  His 4 win run during the chase last year literally broke the spirit of the 24 team that had been getting consistent top 5s and top 10s during that stretch.  The tracks favor Jimmie and he has been in this situation every year of the chase format.  I'm not saying he WILL win his 3rd in a row, there are too many variables, but the early talk of it being a 2 horse race were grossly premature.  There will be a couple of other surprises in those last 10 races, like Clint last year and Denny 2 years ago, and I cannot wait to reset the points!

    3 STR8 N 08!!!

  10. Jimmie Johnson will not 3 peat this season. You heard it here first!

  11. I am not saying that Jimmie will 3-peat. But, it is a real possibility. Anybody that was counting him out wasn't thinking correctly. Even Kyle Busch did not count him out and he has had an outstanding season.

I too can't wait for the chase to begin.

  12. Yeah, I will not be surprised if he will pull it out again this year.   Naturally of course I would love to see my driver get the championship, but he has got to do alot of work.

    GO JUNIOR

  13. LOL... you described Jimmie like countless reporters describe Mark Martin or Matt Kenseth. The lurk at the back of a race waiting to strike. Actually Johnson and Gordon have been known to do that at plate races.

  14. Jimmie Johnson is going to p**p on everybodys party when he wins the Cup Series Championship. So yeah, it's O.K. for you to step out of that closet and join us for some good old fashioned NASCAR racing!

  15. I think that Jimmie has been the best driver in NASCAR since he was a rookie. Statistically, Gordon is. But jeff has been in it for 16 years, while Jimmie has only been in it for 6, yet he has alreasy half the championships Gordon has.
