  1. I guess its more accepted in the music industry (especially rock & roll!) than in sports!!

I wouldn't say that Jimmy got applauded and he wasn't hunted down by the media and public either...

  2. This is a difficult one to answer, because it's not cut and dried.

Both are still role models, both impress, both know the risks.

Only difference is that a footballer is governed by the club and AFL, which have stipulations on the do's and don'ts according to the rules.

A footballer is chosen according to his fitness level, and mental stability, if these two components are missing, then they are shown the back door.

Now for the rocker. they get their creativity, so they say, from mind bending drugs.

Perhaps this is why it's OK for the rocker, who doesn't have a governing body to turf him/her out of the rock industry if they indulge. Tricky question!!!

  3. i agree with silver chair

but i think jimmy was more a pepsi max boy

  4. Because coke ( and drug ) use is acceptable, and actually better for enhancing your reputation in the music industry. Dont you remember the old saying " s*x, drugs, rock n roll? ". The three of them go hand in hand, and the greater the abuse of all three the bigger the legend you are.

Id just like to know how much greater a footballer Ben Cousins would/could have been if he didnt have to deal with his addiction. Eeven during this years short comeback he had some massive games, and thats in the midst of a dangerous and deadly addiction.

How good he could have been with football as his main priority? Now thats a scary thought.

  5. Ask Andrew Johns, he may know

  6. I think your a fanta head

  7. I think it is because...

In sport it can kill ur career and it is less common. whereas in the music industry it is not uncommon that rocks starts be off their heads.

I donno thats just my opinion

  8. it does sound a touch hypocritical don't it

  9. probably because in one profession i.e AFL its illegal both criminally and in the eyes of the laws of the game and bad for the image of the game plus less common.

where as in the other profession its accepted as being part of the rock and roll culture (although still illegal) and not harmful

to the image of rock and roll or the artist and probably adds to the "cool" factor

this doesn't make it right but double standards exist in society in all facets

  10. I would have to say...

    Different Eras.

  11. Hi, Jimmy + Ben Both Have a (or had?)problem ... but the comparison between Muso + Sporto is Apple + Orange. Unfortunately it`s fine to be on drugs when your a Muso, I know, I used to be one...But Footy ppl Are supposed to be Fit and are on T.V more often
