Despite seeing himself start more games from the bench and still attracting criticism from fans, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jimmy-Briand-c18553 does not want to leave Olympique Lyonnais this summer and is willing to fight for his place
Since switching to 4-4-2, Olympique Lyonnais coach Remi Garde has not really utilised Jimmy Briand that much. The 26-year-old was more often benched in the first half of the campaign and things are still the same as the season reaches its final few weeks.
However, despite being consigned to a mere peripheral role, Briand is not showing any frustration.
The player’s relative say that Briand has accepted his role without flinching.
“He had small moments of depression but they never lasted long,” says Briand’s friend Emilien. Another relative, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arnold-Mvuemba-c6641 says that Briand rarely talks about his new role at the club thus indicating that the player is not really worried about the current
situation.
The former Rennais man knows what’s best for the team and Mvuemba says that it is better for his friend to be utilised as a striker rather than a midfielder.
“It’s not an excuse, but we must not forget that Jimmy is a striker.”
Throughout the campaign, and the last season, Briand has received way too much criticism but is still impervious. His agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, says that his client is not looking to start a new chapter when the summer transfer window opens.
For now atleast, the player knows that his playing time will not really be increased. Furthermore, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 seem to be in good form and Remi Garde won’t really be looking to tinker with a squad that has given the required results of late.
Jimmy Briand was signed by Les Gones from Stade Rennais for around 6 million Euros in the summer of 2010. During his time at Rennais, the Frenchman was used largely as a striker and it was at Lyon where he slowly adapted to playing down the flanks.
Reports claim that Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan are keen on signing the 26-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international and Remi Garde might consider letting go of the player whose status might never change at the Rhone club.
