Jimmy Rollins still on a roll – MLB Update
Star free agent Jimmy Rollins, who has played his entire career with the Philadelphia Phillies, is still waiting for a new contract with any potential Major League Baseball team.
According to some baseball experts, Rollins’ matter of still being a free agent and searching to find a good contract is pretty strange considering how much talent he possesses.
No doubt he is a very good player having many skills and tremendous stats, but still to find a team that will give him a reasonable contract to help carry his game forward speaks volumes to the fact that every MLB team is spending very carefully in this
offseason.
A particular report that has published recently states that a journalist has talked about the very possibility of Rollins to join the Phillies again after they rejected exercising team options on him last month that eventually made him a free agent this
offseason.
The reporter, who has somewhat speculated about Jimmy Rollins’ future and said clearly that he will be signing again with the Phillies for next few seasons. This is also a possibility that the Phillies’ management is likely to offer him a new five year contract
for good money.
Recently, Phillies’ general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. has also said, that reflected the thoughts of inner hopes of Phillies for signing Rollins again.
Amaro Jr. stated on Monday morning, “We’re still working on it; we’re hoping to have a resolution soon. We talked over the weekend; we hope to talk again today. Why wouldn’t I?”
Rollins’ career has been remained pretty consistent since he played his debut game with the Phillies in 2000. A three-time All Star, along with the World Series Champion, three-time Gold Glove winner, Silver Slugger Award winner, National League’s Most Valuable
Player and the World Baseball Classic All-Player with WBC Team are the foremost achievements which has made him a baseball prodigy in the biggest baseball league in the world.
Many say if Phillies are still reluctant to give him another contract, he simply should pursue somewhere else in the league and start another beginning with full swing.
