Jimmy White teams up with Ronnie O’Sullivan in 2012 Snooker Legends Cup
One of the most outstanding potters the world has ever seen, England’s Jimmy White will be teaming up with another living legend, Ronnie O’Sullivan to take part in the upcoming 2012 Snooker Legends Cup and take on the former seven-time World Snooker Champion,
Scotland’s Stephen Hendry and his team.
The Whirlwind’s team includes Dennis Taylor as captain, John Parrott and the former three-time World Snooker Champion, Ronnie O’Sullivan. These four cuemen will represent Team England and Northern Ireland versus the Rest of the World team comprising of Cliff
Thorburn as captain, Stephen Hendry, Tony Drago and the former Champ, Ken Doherty.
The event will be a thriller definitely as the potters have massive fan following. The 2012 Snooker Legends Cup will be commencing from May 11 to 13, 2012 at the Bedworth Civic Hall. The former six-time World Snooker Championship finalist, White, is looking
forward for a scintillating snooker event when he plays the likes of Stephen Hendry and Ken Doherty at the baize.
While speaking to the local media on the occasion, White said, “I teamed with O’Sullivan before but it will be great to play with him again. There’s some great players involved on both teams and we’ll do all we can to win. We are going to try and play it
on a Ryder Cup kind of format so it will be serious but entertaining.”
He added, “It’s serious snooker as well as fun. There’s some great players but at the same time we meet the audience after and we’ll get people out the audience to play against us. It’s the third year of the Tour and it’s getting bigger all time so people
should definitely come and watch us.”
The Snooker Legends Cup is an invitational snooker tournament in which the senior potters from across the world are invited to play. The event was launched by Jason Francis in 2009 at the Premier Stage Productions. The 2012 Snooker Legends Cup will be played
between two teams namely team England and Northern Ireland and team Rest of the World. The event will have four sessions for singles and doubles.
