Saw him play against the Chicago Wolves in the playoffs and thought he was a decent player . Any insight from any Leaf fans?

  1. I believe Jiri Tlusty is all but a lock to make the Leafs roster. He was eligable to be sent down for the AHL Playoffs even though he spent 58 games with the Leafs otherwise he wouldn't have been with the Marlies for the playoffs. Nikolai Kulemin has been guarenteed a roster spot and he has never played an NHL game so I imagine Tlusty will be with the Leafs if he stays healthy.

  2. I believe a year with a good Marlies team would help his development more than playing a tough year with the Leafs.

  3. it said in the newspaper a couple days ago that he is likely to be on the 2nd line for the leafs

  4. Jiri is a very Talented young Euro.

i think he will grow to be a 20-25 maybe some time in his career 30 goal scorer. He will be with the leafs for many seasons to come.

The only reason he was with the marlies to face the wolves is because he was eligible to be sent down since the leafs didn't make the playoffs so he could go down and help the Marlies.

  5. In my opinion I think he'll be playing with the leafs... second or third line. He was great last year with the leafs but he did even better with the Marlies. He got that playoof experience and that is an even better reason to brring to the  leafs!

  6. He will be back and given a real go this year. He is pencilled in as a third line winger with a chance to move up. If he takes that opportunity he will likely be around for a while.

As for the Tavares Sweepstakes, of the bottom ten teams in the league last year only Tampa Bay seems to have improved for this year. The race for last will be monumental. But my bet is on Los Angeles. which not only is weak but has gotten weaker. They aren't even over spending on garbage and still are getting poorer.

  7. I think he's going to stay with the Leafs.

But if we sign Sundin, he might be sent down.

That would suck though because he is a good player that can help us in a lot of ways.

He spent the good last months of the season with the Leafs, then he went down to the minors for the playoffs probably to gain some more experience and help them.

He played pretty well down there.

  8. Hard telling what the LEAFS are doing...  but I KNOW THIS.... they are clearing CAP SPACE for the next GM to take over..... makes it more appealing for a guy to come in with a bunch of young guys just starting to mature and 20mil in cap space to build off!

Leafs will take a step back this year and then start their march forward if they do it right. Its going to be a tough year for LEAF fans this season, but if your patient and they get the right GM, they have nowhere but UP to go!
