Jo-Wilfried Tsonga trounces Jesse Levine in the quarter-finals – Moselle Open 2012 
Top seeded, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, prevailed over the American contender, Jesse Levine, in the quarter-finals of the Moselle Open 2012 at the hard courts of Metz, France. The local challenger jolted his victory
in a total of one hour and 34 minutes on Friday.
The local challenger was unable to hold his initial serve in the opener and commenced a sloppy start. The American professional took note of the opportunity to clinch the initial two games with a 2-love lead.
However, as the match progressed Tsonga started to gain moment and managed to bag away the lead by breaking his rival’s serve in the fourth and the sixth game. He dominated the score line with his classic strategy and nudged forward to mark the set closure
with a 6-3 score.
The world number seventh, Tsonga fired one aces onto the American but he had a 56 percent initial serve accuracy. He bagged away 13 of 18 first and seven of 14 second delivery points. His rival bestowed nine
serve break opportunities but he could only manage to attain just two. On the other hand, left-hander American displayed 66 percent firsts serve accuracy, with 19 of 31 first and five of 16 second delivery points.
In the final set, the 24-year-old American held his initial serve but taking advantage of the situation, he stamped the scoreboard to 2-1. The right-hander French competitor quickly recognized his opponent’s
smart moves to upset him and he evened out the score line to 2-all. Levine did not give up and struggled hard to secure his former lead. Towards the end, Tsonga jumped forward and confident grabbed the last two games and marked the set closure with his 6-4
win.
The former world number fifth in the ATP Rankings, Tsonga managed to strike five aces with a 64 percent initial serve precision. He pocketed away 15 of 18 first and six of 10 second serve points. Similarly, Levine
managed to attain 74 percent first serve presentation, with 20 of 29 first and three of 10 second delivery points. From the five break points presented, the Frenchman snatched just one.
In the next match Tsonga will face the eighth seeded Nikolay Davydenko
