Joachi Bardrum seizes Boys 200m butterfly gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Joachi Bardrum of Auburn seizes gold medal of the Boys 200m butterfly on first day of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Monday, April 8.
Bardrum showed no mercy to his challengers and made his way towards the finishing end for first position. With his commendable pace, he showed no mercy to his challengers and surfaced on the finishing end for gold medal.
With his astonishing pace, Bardrum remained nearly full body length ahead of his closest swimmer and tapped the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 02.77 seconds.
The first position holder was chased by Hami McDougall of Surrey Park, who was 0.80 seconds behind and hit the wall with an effort of 2 minutes and 03.53 seconds.
The silver medallist was followed by Luke Scott of Fraser Coast, who was almost 0.85 seconds apart and clocked an effort of 2 minutes and 04.38 seconds.
Fourth finest spot of the race was obtained by Cameron Preval of Fraser Coast, who was 0.96 seconds slower from his former finisher and posted an effort of 2 minutes and 05.34 seconds.
Fifth best spot of the race was secured by Andrew Walker of Western Sprint, who was almost 1.50 seconds apart and hit the finishing end with an effort of 2 minutes and 06.81 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Samuel Fowler of Sans Souci, who was nearly 1.60 seconds behind and clocked a time of 2 minutes and 08.44 seconds.
Fowler was followed by Joshua Attard of Cherrybrook, who was 1.43 seconds slower and posted a time of 2 minutes and 09.87 seconds for seventh position.
Last spot of the race was obtained by Michael Tanner of Ivanhoe Neons, who was marginally slower from his preceding swimmer and concluded his race in a time of 2 minutes and 10.08 seconds.
Furthermore, Bardrum expressed contentment over his victory in the distant butterfly event and stepped on the medal rostrum for awards and accolades at the victory ceremony of the tournament. In addition, the audience applauded for scintillating forms of
all participants after the session.
