Joachim Fischer Nielsen – Pedersen Christinna win their first match at BWF Superseries Finals 2012
Denmark’s lofty shuttlers Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Pedersen Christinna defied all odds and toppled their higher ranked local challengers Nan Zhang and Yunlei Zhao in Mixed Doubles Group B at BWF Superseries Finals 2012 in China, on Wednesday, December
12.
The lower ranked Joachim and Christinna, who are un-seeded players in the Mixed Doubles draw of the tournament, played with tremendous speed and control in their shots and managed to defeat their fourth seeded Chinese opponents by taking 54 minutes.
Joachim and Christinna were on a different level in the arena as they played with incredible speed and confidence which helped them to register a reasonable victory over their local challengers in straight games with a decent margin.
Meanwhile, the higher ranked Nan and Yunlei tried their best to show up strong performance. However, they failed to stop their Danish rivals from winning this match with a respectable total on the board.
Joachim and Christinna entered into the court in a confident manner and they employed aggressive skills to take over the control of rallies.
The lower ranked Danish shuttlers showed their hard-to-learn skills in the arena and they remained successful in getting a strong position in the arena.
Joachim and Christinna did not show any mercy to their experienced Chinese rivals in the starting half and established a tremendous lead on score board until the break.
After the one-minute interval, the in-form Joachim and Christinna stayed fully focused in the arena and they easily wrapped up the first set with a staggering margin of 21-12.
In the following set, Chinese shuttlers also played positive badminton and stayed close to their Danish opponents until the end of opening half.
After the mid-game interval, the match progressed in the similar thrilling way and both couples played with superb precision which kept them close on the board until 21-21.
At this stage, the lower ranked Joachim and Christinna played to their maximum potential and remained successful in winning the second set with a close margin of 23-21.
The Danish players found a superb start in the tournament as they defeated the local shuttlers in a decent way with a reasonable 21-12 and 23-21 score on the board.
