Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen land a title berth in BWF Superseries Finals 2012
Denmark’s Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christian Pedersen showed a great performance and stormed into Mixed Doubles final after crushing Thailand’s Sudket Prapakamol and Saralee Thoungthongkam in semi-final battle at the Tata Open India International Challenge
2012 on Saturday, December 15, in India.
The in-form Joachim and Christinna, who are currently World Number Six in Mixed Doubles category, showed a great performance in the arena and remained successful in beating their higher ranked challengers Sudket and Saralee who are placed at number five
in world ranking.
Danish shuttlers were in complete control of rallies throughout the match and they remained successful in winning this semi-final battle in straight games with a dominating margin on the score board.
On the other hand, the higher ranked Thai shuttlers failed to display their staggering skills when it mattered most and remained unable to avoid a straight-set defeat from the hands of their Danish rivals in 46 minutes.
The impressive speed and precision helped Joachim and Christinna assisted to take control of the pace right from the initial points of opening game.
However, the Thai shuttlers also played competitive badminton and stayed close to their Danish rivals until the end of opening half.
However, Joachim and Christinna managed to stay focused and remained in a slightly strong position against their in-form Thai opponents.
After the break, the impressive Danish couple stayed calm and composed in the arena and they remained successful in ending up the first game with a close margin of 21-19.
In the second game, Sudket and Saralee worked hard to play positive badminton in the starting half but they failed to construct pressure on their Danish rivals who took over the charge of rallies.
The powerful smashes and positive approach helped Joachim and Christinna to stay ahead on the board until the end of first half.
After the break, the inform Danish duo continued their aggressive run and easily grabbed the game in an inspiring fashion with a huge margin of 21-13.
Joachim and Christinna won this semi-final clash in style as they finished it off in straight sets with a convincing 21-19 and 21-13 score on the board.
