The 52-year old has called on his team to fulfil their full potential as they prepare for their quarter-final against Greece.
Die Mannschaft go into the knock-out stages on the back of three straight wins in the Group stage. They were drawn into a which was dubbed as the ‘Group of Death’ but Joachim  Low’s men made a mockery of the moniker. They eliminated
the tournament favourites Netherlands, defeated Portugal and Denmark on their way to the quarter finals.
In the last eight clash, they are set to meet Greece, a side known for its robust defensive approach. Fernando Santos’s side were shock quarter-finalists as they eliminated the much fancied Russia in the last fixture of Group A.
The 2004 European Champions will not be intimidated by the big stage and quality in their opposition’s ranks.
The Ethniki defeated Portugal to lift the European trophy in 2004, and they still have some Euro 2004 winners in their side.
Ahead of the game, Low calls for improvement, he wants his side to be clinical in front of the goal. In previous matches German players have been accused of not putting their chances away, a thing which might come back to haunt
them.
"We need to be a tad better up front, above all when it comes to taking our chance,” he is quoted as saying in an interview.
Although the tactician was impressed with his side’s movement and link up play but he believes they have been let down by their finishing at times and in order to make their domination count the Germans need to improve their shooting.
Die Nationalelf head coach also pointed out the defensive lapses in the team, in his opinion the players leave a hole in the midfield when they push forward, this makes them vulnerable to a swift counter attack.
“Our movement was pretty good, but we have to make sure the ball finds its target as well. On top of that, we sometimes left too much of a hole in midfield and at the back, that's something we need to address.”
Die Mannschaft will have to raise their game against Greece, as Fernando Santos’s side are known to sit deep in their own half and are astute defensively. They will look to hit Germany on the counter attack, so the DFB eleven will
have to stay focused for the entire duration of the game.
