Joachim Low delighted with the progress of German teams – Football news
The German national team coach has expressed his delight on the progress of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League this year.
Joachim Low has insisted that the national team would have fared brilliantly if the Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich had reached the final of the UEFA Champions League last year. He claimed that the spirits of the German players in Bayern Munich and Borussia
Dortmund are high and the national team would have benefitted from that.
Die Mannschaft reached the semi-final of UEFA Euro 2012 which was held in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 at this stage by a 2-1 margin. The team was undefeated before the semi-final in Warsaw.
Low admitted that Bayern players were extremely disappointed last year when they lost the Champions League final to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. The manager stated that it was one of the reasons for failure of the team to reach the final as they were demotivated. He added that
the players lacked confidence and it was very hard for them to focus on the national side at that time.
“This momentum would certainly have been good for us at the European Championship last year. The self-confidence of the players is so incredibly large. This was markedly different from the European Championship. The disappointment of the Bayern players after
they lost Champions League final in Munich was difficult to handle,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 boss claimed that the team missed the euphoria last year and is confident that the team would have gone a long way had the two German teams faced each other last year.
“We were missing that euphoria and lightness needed in order to get a major international title. Now the situation would be more favourable,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund will take on each other at the Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday, May 25.
