Joachim Low prepared for the worst in the Euro 2012 draw
German national team manager Joachim Low has stated that he has prepared himself for the worst as the Euro 2012 draw nears. He admitted that his side could be drawn in the ‘Group of Death’ but it will not matter as the team is
ready to face any challenge in the competition. The tactician insisted that there are some other teams also apart from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 who will be putting a challenge for the title and that it will be a tough task.
Die Mannschaft could be drawn into the Group of Death with the likes of Spain, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 are in Pot 1, the Germans are in Pot 2 whereas Portugal and France are in Pots 3 and 4 respectively
so it can turn out to be one exciting group in the end.
Low claimed that he is not afraid of any team and it does not matter if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 is drawn in the ‘Group of Death’ or not. He insisted that the team has proved in the past one year that it is capable of beating any team in the world.
He added that Germany can draw the likes of Spain or Netherlands who are both firm favourites to win but is sure that the players can handle the pressure as there is great experience amongst the squad.
“We will take the draw as it comes. We know that virtually anything is possible, because we are not seeded, and we can even be placed with Spain or the Netherlands. In our team a lot of players are at top clubs or abroad, so they
can deal with the pressure,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The boss refused to label Spain as the only favourites to win the tournament and admitted that there are many teams capable of achieving that feat. He insisted that smaller teams cannot be ignored as the example of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Greece-c2908 in 2004
is in front of them.
“It is the wrong approach, if you speak only about Germany and Spain. There are four or five other world class teams with title hopes. And the Euro is harder to win than the World Cup, because nuances are often decisive,” he concluded.
