Joachim Low’s decision to axe http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Ballack-c25270: Right or Wrong?
Michael Ballack is certainly one of the best players to have appeared in a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 shirt, not many would argue on that. The midfielder’s displays for the national side have been extremely impressive in recent years considering
his leadership qualities and the ability to score goals. But not many fans would be happy with Joachim Low’s decision to exclude the midfielder from his plans in the future due to injury problems.
The German national team manager claimed that he wants to promote emerging talent so that they could be ready in time for the European Championships in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 next year. But there have been many unanswered questions.
Was it the right decision? Would Germany miss an experienced player like Ballack for a competition of the stature of Euro 2012? Was the treatment from Joachim Low unfair or would the decision really benefit the team?
Michael Ballack has been missing from the national side for almost a year after he suffered an injury before the start of the World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 last year. He was the captain of the national side and was to lead them in
the competition but unfortunate things happen and the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid the very next season. Since then he has been a prominent
part of the team and has put in some brilliant performances.
Khedira, still aged 24, has developed as a fine central midfielder for Germany and his partnership with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 in the centre of the park has been impressive. On the other hand, Ballack is 34 and has missed most
of the last season with Bayer Leverkusen with only 20 appearances in the whole campaign. So, the most obvious option would be Khedira as he is young and has played considerable amount of football in the last season.
Joachim Low’s preference to promote young talent in the past few years has resulted in great success with the likes of Mesut Ozil, Thomas Muller and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Toni-Kroos-c35425 emerging amongst the best talents in Europe. The aforementioned trio
are already a part of the national side with Mario Gotze, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marko-Marin-c24198 and Andre Schurrle amongst the brightest upcoming talents still on the sidelines.
Die Mannschaft have most certainly qualified for the European Championships after winning all the seven games in the qualifying campaign so far. This would be the best time to give young players a go in the remaining games scheduled
in September and October so that they prove their worth. Germany has nurtured young talent way better than the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in the recent past and players getting the chance at the highest stage has been the most crucial part.
Ballack’s frustration after the axe is somewhat justified as the matter could have been handled in a better way but the decision by the tactician is surely a right one. The move could well turn out in favour of the former Bayern
Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 player as he can prolong his club career with Bayer Leverkusen. And if the brighter side is to be seen, Germany has the personnel to replace the veteran.
