Joachim Persson outshines Kim Bruun to grab Men’s Singles crown at Thwack Czech International
Denmark’s Joachim Persson found his winning rhythm back and he claimed Men’s Singles title after giving a severe treatment to his un-seeded team-mate Kim Bruun in the final showdown at Thwack Czech International 2012 in Czech Republic, on Sunday, September 30.
The impressive Persson, who was the sixth seeded player in main draw of the tournament, showed his aggression on court and outshined his compatriot in a completely one-sided fashion without showing him any mercy.
Persson was in top form on court as he played with precision and toppled Bruun in straight games with a huge margin by taking just 26 minutes on court.
The lower ranked Bruun, in the meanwhile, was completely unable to play his normal game as he got no chance to put up strong resistance and eventually went down to his experienced opponent without creating any impact.
In the first game, Persson played dominating badminton as he kept the pace of rallies at the highest level and managed an incredible lead at the early stage.
The sixth seeded Persson continued putting up staggering show without showing any problem and eventually managed a spectacular lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Persson continued showing up his aggressive approach on court in the concluding half and managed to remain miles ahead on score board.
Bruun, on the other hand, failed to stop the aggression of his rival who ended up the opening game with a stunning 21-11 score on the board.
In the second set, Bruun again failed to show his brilliance as he lost his control over the pace of rallies in opening points and remained struggling.
In the meanwhile, Persson was focused in the game as he controlled the pace of rallies in an impressive way and took a spectacular lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, Persson did not slow down the pace and remained up to the mark by maintaining his upper hand over Bruun.
The higher ranked Persson did not face even a slight problem in winding up the second game with a 21-10 score on the board.
Persson emerged as the crown winner as he easily stamped his mark over Bruun by ending up the final battle with a staggering margin of 21-11 and 21-10.
