Joakim Noah ready to play in Game 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers – NBA Playoff Update
As Game 6 of this first round Eastern Conference series approaches on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center, Chicago Bulls would love to use the expertise of their injured big man Joakim Noah to take the series to 7 games. In recent
comments made by the player himself, it does seem as though he may be available to help his team.
"I'm feeling better; I'm just trying to get out there for the next game. It's going to be a good Game 6, and I'm hoping I'll be able to play." Noah said while speaking on Bulls TV
This is the first time Noah has come out and spoken about his injury which he suffered in Game 3 and even though the X-rays were negative at that point, he did have to use crutches for the purpose of walking around for the first
few days.
However, the ambitious person he is, the Frenchman wanted to be able to return as quickly as possible for his team. He took of the brace he had to wear as a precautionary measure and got down for shooting practice Game 5. Even
though, he was unable to feature in his teams’ win over the Philadelphia 76ers cutting the series deficit down to 2-3. He described it as tough for him to see his team go on without him.
“It's hard," Noah said. "This is what we live for, to play in games like this, so not to be out there with your teammates is hard, but we won and live to fight another day.”
As the playoffs have gone on for the Bulls, they have been struggling with injuries to their major players. Game 1 saw, Derrick Rose get knocked down with a season ending knee injury due to a torn ACL. Game 3 saw Noah injure his
ankle and even in Game 5, they had to face a slight scare when Taj Gibson, who had to leave the game after going down awkwardly.
However as the series is coming to a close, these players would not want to miss out on the action. Gibson has declared himself fit and ready to go and Noah is adamant of the fact that the Bulls are well capable of forcing Game
7 and bring back the series to Chicago.
"I feel like we played really hard," Noah said. "It was a great win. Guys are giving everything they've got. Let's bring it back to Chicago for Game 7."
