Joakim Noah regrets taking three point attempt at the end of game against Orlando Magic – NBA News
Joakim Noah just wanted to be able to get the Chicago Bulls fans a big man, but it landed him on the wrong side of Head Coach Tom Thibodeau. With the Bulls up 99-93 against the Orlando Magic at the United Center on Tuesday night,
Noah attempted a three pointer in the final seconds of the game because the Bulls have a promotion in which fans can get a free Big Mac if they score 100 points in a home win. However, his attempt did not sit too well with Thibodeau, who said that he had a
chat with Noah after the game about the three point attempt, and added that he would not like to share the details of that conversation.
"I talked to him about it, but I'm going to keep that private," said Thibodeau.
The Bulls fans have booed Derrick Rose as well as Kirk Hinrich before for missing the opportunity to score more than 100 points in a home win, and Noah did not want to be included in that win. Hence, he went for the attempt and
missed, as he is not a very established three point shooter.
I got caught up in the moment. I regret it a little bit. It wasn't a good shot. You have to respect the game because you never know what can happen in a game. I just got caught up in the moment and I was trying to get the people
a Big Mac. They really wanted a Big Mac (judging by how loud the crowd was getting) and I felt like, not only did I take the shot and miss the shot, we didn't even get the Big Mac. Next time, I won't take that 3-pointer,” said Noah after the game.
The attempt was only Noah’s fifth three point attempt in his career since he stepped into the league back in 2007. And Noah has not scored a three pointer in his career yet. Putting the three point attempt aside, Noah has been
great for the Bulls in the opening few games of the season, helping out on both ends of the floor as the team attempts to remain competitive in the absence of Derrick Rose, who is recovering from an ACL injury.
