Joan Laporta became the latest footballing personality to reflect on the situation regarding the Portuguese talisman. The Catalan administrator remarked that Ronaldo is under extreme pressure with the media raving on his condition at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The former Barcelona president sided with the player who he once wanted to sign at the Camp Nou, hailed Madeira born footballer, claiming that he is a great professional. He added that like everyone else, the 27-year-old is human and is affected by what
is going around him.
Moreover, Laporta claimed that Ronaldo did not have any idea the nuisance his remarks would made, admitting that in the past he has been the subject of such scrutiny as well.
Continuing on the topic, Laporta praised the former Manchester United attacker for speaking up and telling everyone how he feels.
However, when quizzed about whether Real Madrid should go to every length to make the star performer happy, Laporta gave a coy answer. He remarked that it is a decision in Los Blancos court and they will have to act upon it to make Ronaldo is in a joyous
mood once again.
"Everyone is going over the top on him. We must understand he's under a lot of pressure and is human, because we all are affected by everything around us," Laporta was quoted as saying by AS.
"He said something without realising the impact it would make. That's happened to me as well in the past. The important thing is that he said it because that's how he feels.”
