The Spaniard has taken out time to take yet another jibe at the current board of the Catalan giants, as he claimed that they are responsible for making Guardiola leave.
Former Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, has expressed that Sandro Rosell and his current board of directors is responsible for letting Pep Guardiola leave. He added that they should be held accountable for not hanging onto one of the best managers at the
Nou Camp.
It appears as though Mr. Laporta has made quite a habit of hitting out at Sandro Rosell. The former supremo is often observed lashing out at the current board of directors at the Spanish capital.
Laporta himself had to leave his post vacant after he resigned as club president, following accusations of fraud and corruption. As a result, the Spaniard decided to call it a day instead letting the scandal aggravate.
At the moment, he is awaiting re-elections for the club’s president and hence he is using every opportunity to defame the ruling professionals. However, matters would stoop this low is something that no one saw coming.
In several ways, it is true that Laporta’s time at the helm was better than the current one. There are many that believe that his management and way of handling things was more preferable.
However, there are also those who are critical of the way the former president is handling the situation.
Although Rosell has denied the accusation on several occasions, Laporta firmly believes that he should be held responsible for Guardiola’s departure.
"The current board could have done much more to convince him to stay. His departure was an intentional negligence," the Spanish national was quoted as saying.
"Many lies have been told along the way to reach the point where things are now. Whether or not it was the best deal for the club depends on whether funds were needed. In reality decisions like these are eroding the value of the club's solidarity."
