The experienced tactician did not shy away from sharing his views on Los Bermellones 1-1 away draw with Osasuna at the Pamplona.
La Liga fixture at El Sadar had to wait until the 70th minute for the first goal of the match. k**e Sola scored to give the hosts the lead, with Tomer Hemed equalizing eight minutes later.
Mallorca came away with a point to show for their travel to Navarre with Joaquin Caparros disappointed from the efforts of his Mallorca players. Indiscipline and lack of intensity were the highlight of Los Bermellones performance, as they could only conjure
a late draw.
Reflecting on the fixture, Caparros bemoaned that Mallorca did not play according to his schemes, claiming that there were numerous aspects that displeased him.
For starters, the former La Roja trainer complained against the intensity of side’s display, whilst especially taking time out to grunt about the red cards shown to players from both dugouts.
However, it was the second half performance of Mallorca that Caparros had the most to say about. He cried out loud against the manner in which Iberostar based outfit followed their rivals, allowing them complete freedom on the pitch.
“There was much from the game that I didn’t like,” Caparros declared in the post-match press conference.
“We have not had the intensity in our play that we wanted. Both teams were affected by the red cards. I didn’t like anything from our start to the second half, we went out playing as shadows, speculating, and after time and only after we conceded did the
players react.”
Nevertheless, Caparros did not find everything negative from Mallorca’s efforts on the pitch, hailing the reaction of his players after going a goal down late into the match.
“At the same time, I am more satisfied than dissatisfied, especially for the reaction shown. It was positive. Osasuna wanted to get their first win and the reaction from the players has been important, because it gives you confidence.”
Despite the draw, Mallorca continue in top-4 of La Liga points table, while Osasuna continue in 20th place with a single point to show for against their names.
