  1. look elsewhere.

They have already broken several labor laws.

    1) A minor should NOT be working past 10 or 11pm (depending on your local laws)

2)Minors are REQUIRED to have periodic breaks.

find work elsewhere and report these jerks to your labor board.

  3. -----------------  ANSWER to 2nd QUESTION ------------------

---     IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A COMPANY or BUSINESS TO WITHHOLD PAY FROM AN EMPLOYEE OR  FORMER       EMPLOYEE FOR HOURS WORKED ------ YOU MUST REPORT THEM !!

they are trying to take advantage of you because you are a kid,  and they think you will do nothing...don't allow it...

                    YOU HAVE POWER!    USE IT!!!!

    SEE ANSWER BELOW......

Are you saying you never received your paycheck for 2 days worth of work?

    If this is true,

First, you need to calculate out on paper what you believe they owe you.

You might also want to call your local labor board to find out if you are entitled to overtime. <In some states you do not qualify for overtime until you have worked a 40 hour week.>

Then,...  call ahead and find out when your manger / owner, is in <who ever is in charge of writing /signing checks >.

Then, go to the restaurant, in person - when they are in, with the time /days, you worked, the $$ amounts owed <all on paper> and let them know they owe you for 2 days pay xx$'$'s  (IF - you qualify for overtime, - Plus the amount of $$'s for overtime).

You might even want to bring one of your parents if you think they could help by being be firm and level headed with your previous employer. < IF Not, leave them at home>

If your previous employer states any of the following reasons for not paying you they are all Not a Valid reasons for with-holding one's pay.

    1) "We didn't like your work - so we're not going to pay you".

NOT VALID  - they can terminate you, but they still have to pay.

    2) "You broke too many dishes"

NOT VALID they can terminate you, but they still have to pay you.

    3) 'We don't pay for training''

NOT VALID - unless you signed a contract that said you would train for free, they have to pay you for time worked. OH WAIT - If you did sign such a silly contract - you're under 18, they cannot hold you to it..

4)" We have to wait till the next Pay period to write you a check"

NOT VALID  - if the terminated you, they must pay you that day.

    5) We don't have any checks here

Fine- They can pay you in cash.

If you are forced to leave without your pay, let them know:

''You would have liked to handle this nicely, However, due to their actions, you will be forced to report them to the labor board for illegally withholding your pay and working overtime with out any breaks or meals. - make sure you use the word illegal-

Then leave and call the labor board immediately.

Most companies do not want an audit from the labor board.

    * Always try nice first (Firm but Nice).

If Nice doesn't work get tough( with help from the Labor Board).

    Good Luck.

  4. You should have rang them sooner, and they definitely should've given you breaks. That sucks if you worked them hours and didn't get paid!! You mightn't get paid if you were on a trial run but I'd keep on to them to try and see if they'll give you anything. Get a job somewhere else and make sure they don't take advantage.
