I'm a 16 year old going in tomorrow to go job hunting.

I don't have tat much experience, but I think I have enough

to land a job.

I'm currently thinking about applying at our towns local

Macdonald's

Wendy's

Taco Bell

Little Ceasers

and you know stuff like that

I was also thinking about seeing if they had any teen jobs

at Jcpenny, Wal Mart and Meyers

does anyone have any tips and tricks for me,

especially at the big retailers like Wal Mart and Mejers

  1. Be friendly, flexible, and willing to be what the employer needs. When applying or going on an interview, dress like you're going to work - no jeans unless that's all you have, no baggy pants, no low cut tank tops or heavy makeup. Have a list of references - people not related to you who can answer a few questions for the potential employer. Your school counselor or a favorite teacher might be a good reference, a past supervisor at a job or volunteering opportunity, or the parent of a friend. Know what hours you are available to work before hand - and remember that what hours you want and what hours the employer needs are not always going to be the same thing. The employers you listed will most likely want you to be available on some weekends.

You can apply for some of those jobs, like Wal Mart, online. If you fill out a paper application, print neatly and spell correctly. Use blue or black pen - purple or green ink does not send a great message. Ask to speak to the manager to turn your application in, but if they are busy, just leave it. Don't bring friends with you. If they are your ride, don't be in "hang out" mode.

  2. Best place would probally be a grocery store. That is where I got my first job, and they hire people still in school. Bag boy is a pretty easy job too.

  3. Apply at Wendy's and taco bell,

Wendy's is a great place to work I work there and im 16!

  4. get a job where you can get tips.... you can probably get more tip money then what you earn on a paycheck after tax deductions...
