  1. just a few things when interviewing make sure that you look nice, use your manners, be honest, try not to use slang term  and RELAX! also one thing, this may not come in handy but what the hey,. try not to be gender specific.  like how we say mail man, say mail carrier. some job interviewers are really picky about that! they can be so picky that they may not choose you because of it. hope i helped!

  2. The ad below is an actual ad posted for a pet groomer/assistant. Familiarize yourself with the things they will be looking for.  Maybe contact a local veterinary clinic and visit with their pet groomer to see what she does. One piece of advice, don't be afraid to make use of your spell checker.  Misspelling the name of the job you are applying for would send your letter straight to the trash can.

Qualities you must possess: Excellent scissoring skills. Strong knowledge of correct breed standards. Experience with and willingness to groom cats. Positive and professional attitude with clients, co-workers and pets. Ability to work independently as well as with others. Strong work ethic. Dedication to cleanliness of equipment and surrounding work area. Concern for safety at all times. Great communication skills. Any hand-stripping experience or interest is a bonus, but not mandatory.  A portfolio and/or references will be required of everyone we consider.

The successful candidate will have solid communication skills, and a team orientation.
