Ok, I'm looking for information on a career choice, i really have no vocabulary to use on this subject but i want to know about clay sculpture and modeling, the type that would be needed for creating (and this is where i first thought of it) concept... video game characters and the like. as apposed to saying i'm a sculpturer and making art to sell. i want someone to tell me, "here are some pictures of the main character, if you could bulk him up a bit and make the jaw bigger that would be great send us the model by june (lol)".

i can understand that with game design in particular this kind of practise is being quickly taken up by 3D modeling on computers but i know people stilll do this.. maybe?

any help greatly appreciated :P (websites, lessons, course titles, examples, even types of clay!)

  1. You want to be a "Model Maker" plain and simple. In "DA BIZ" that what they call it. Model makers usually have a fine arts degree and get paid "LOTS" of money. Yeah alot of it is done with computers, but general concept is usually still good ol fashion clay, they also use balsa wood and such for scenery and such, but if its a really niche profession.
