Hi, I am currently 17 and I am about to finish High School, and I am thinking of a job at the airport. The airport where I live is, Vancouver International Airport, and I can speak Hindi, Punjabi, and English fluently. And plus there is a big population of South Asians, speaking these languages in the Metro Vancouver Area. I have NO EXPERIENCE OF ANY WORK AT A AIRPORT. but I do have experience, for customer service from fast food chains. Can anyone guide me in a way to get a job with a Airline as a check in agent, or anyother job at a airport with GOOD PAY.

  1. Hi there I work for BA in check in, firstly check and make sure the airlines you would like to work for are recruiting, then make sure you have done some research on the job. because when you apply and get through to interview they may ask you questions about the company and the job, also with your customer service background they will ask you for examples of customer service, for example they may ask you to give a time where you went the extra mile or if you were a passenger what would you expect as customer service, also they want you to really sell yourself.

your languages are a big bonus as I am multi lingual and you do use them all the time. And you will always get especially the indian languages people who dont speak english needing that extra bit of help.

Ground work is fantastic and I love every minute of it, yes we get days were we would love to throttle passengers but everyday is different and you meet all sorts of people from all different cultures. Also make sure your tolerance levels good because you will be put in situations where you will really need to keep your cool.

Best of luck with your career and hope you go far
