Should I go to job corp or a regular high school? I'm having trouble choosing. If anyone has been to job corp could you possibly list some pros and cons?

  1. I am also glad that you are not choosing dropping out of school.  I went to high school and graduated, and also went to Job Corps as well, a year after school.  My suggestion would be to go to high school and graduate, and then proceed to enter Job Corps.  Both are exceptionally well, but there is nothing like finishing what you started, such as school, and graduating.  I don't know, something about standing up in front of people with your graduating accomplishments.  Graduating high school can open up lots of new and wonderful doors for you.  if it were me, I would definitely finish high school first, before anything else.

  2. Stick it out, work hard and finish high school.  It opens doors that Job Corps closes.  If you finish hs, you could go on for various types of training, vocational training, community college, even college.  It shows employers more brainpower, better attitude and more diligence than Job Corps.  Employers are not impressed with the caliber of Job Corps people, and would rather have a real hs grad, even to start out on their loading dock, mail room and stock room.

Job Corps will get you a low-level semi-skilled job with no future, and associates who are more likely to crooks and con artists than honest, decent folk who work to make better lives for themselves.  It is not a positive environment, and it is not for anyone who can or wants to make good things happen.

  3. Without knowing you it is hard to say. Both have advantages.

I am just glad dropping out of school is not one of your choices.
