  1. Go to your dental practice and chat to the dentists.

  2. Having been on the interviewer side of the table, perhaps I can shed some light on to this very good question.

A good interviewer always asks questions for a specific reason, and not just random personality questions. One of the more generic ones is "What would you say is your biggest weakness?".

This question is NOT meant to find out what your weaknesses are. These will be apparent during your probationary period, and quite frankly as the interviewer I know 99% of people will not give an honest answer.

This question is meant to evaluate your answer to an awkward and stressful question. It puts you in a position of having to doubt your self: "What do I say, should I be honest? Should I be VERY honest? Should I lie? Is it a trick question? etc..." Your response time and comfort level is what's important here. You body language will give away signs of distress or complete control (control of the situation) and this is what the employer is looking for: Can you handle your self if a ball comes out of left field.

Everyone will have their opinions on how to answer this question, but IMO it will depend on your audience. Most interviewers will not be impressed with a blatant attempt at brown-nosing and it will reflect poor;y on your personality. There are however some interviewers and managers who are power hungry and are looking for a "Yes" person. This is the only time you should ever consider saying something along the lines of "I work too hard".

If there is one thing you should keep in mind is whenever you get stuck in an interview, always keep it light, humorous, show your human side and keep your audience engaged. Never use self-destructive language (i.e. "I'm really bad at ...), and always show that you are aware of your weakness, and why it's a weakness, and how it will improve both your skills/career, and your employer's business. An answer I would give to this would be along the lines of:

"I tend to get overly-focused in my work. Being in the early stages of my career I am concentrated on applying my newly acquired skills, and I tend to forget that we're in a business involving human interaction. Making the effort to have a 20 second conversation with the patients while I prep the machine will go a long way in customer retention, and I am well aware of that. Improving my interpersonal skills will definitely help me obtain my objectives here."

Good luck, and remember: when you're stuck in an interview, good humour is always a good way out ;)

  3. "Sometimes I get too consumed in my work."

  4. Work to hard : )

    Brownie points...

    Good Luck

  5. keep eye contact. be brief  in your answers and  and make sure you are dressed right .practice your interview by going over some possible questionsthe interviwer might say like: why should I hire you?  tell him/her something like: I  am a self-motivated,problem solver who takes pride in a job well done. Think it over and  come up with some really good answers and you'll nail it. Good Luck. I hope You get the job.
