I have a job interview tomorrow and I am comfortable with every part except the $. I have been in the profession 17 years and I am good at what I do, however what if I ask for too much money and they give the job to someone else. I sat out for one year after having my son and I am ready to get back. So how do I get the $ I want and not scare the offer away?

  1. just let em know what ur worth. if they buy it, good. if not, apply for another job at another company.

  2. let them offer you then tell them what you want

  3. Sorry. No answer. I'm looking forward to seeing the responses that you get. I have a similar situation. Good Luck.

  4. do your research... there are websites that will tell you the average salary for that position in the city you plan to be working.  Using this, then adding on a little for your work experience, you'll be able to come up with a reasonable amount to ask for during the interview.  just tell them... well based on the average salary for what this position entails.. and my previous work experience, i believe this is a reasonable salary

  5. I am currently in the job market and I'm 48 years old.  I have a best friend who is a Human Resources Adminstrator at a local college.  She advised me NOT to mention any salary during an interview.

I hope that helps and good luck!

  6. Ace the interview, get the offer, then negotiate. If they want you bad enough they will pay for you!

  7. When filling out an ab in the past, i always left that part open. And when it came time for the sit down interview, i would bring it up ( if they didn't). If you tell them what your looking for an hour, 1 of 2 things they will give you what you want. Or tell you what their starting pay is, and let you know if you can work up to that amount or not. And then you can take it from, that's all i can really say.

  8. Sell yourself first. You will have the interview first to see if they want to hire you.If they decide you are right for the job then you talk cash.If you are asked durring the interveiw you say you are open.Usually when you say open, when they decide they want you they will either make you an offer,or tell you what the job pays. That is when you counter.DO NOT get pulled in to the trap of talking about money durring the interveiw.Use this time to sell yourself and you will open the door for more money,One of the biggest turn offs durring an interveiw is someone that wants to talk about pay before qualifying themselves.

  9. do not chew gum during the interview

it happend 2 a fiend of mine

    lol
