Question:

Job lost last week - I-485 Immigration Interview end of July 08?

I was unexpectedly let go last week from a good paying job. My husband and I applied for the I-485 in March of 2008. I feel absolutely horrible, because I am sponsoring him - and because the interview came so soon.

He says not to worry - that if we have to do a second interview, we will - but I am worried that immigration won't accept our application if I don't get a job in the next couple of weeks - but its difficult because my job paid well and those jobs take some time top find again. We are very close, and I love him dearly - and I feel like I have let him down. I feel worst about it than he does...

Will my employment be an issue in our application for his greencard?

  1. You can find information on the website http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

  2. hmm calm down, if you filed the sponsorship already I don't there's gonna be a problem, just don't tell them I guess, plus they won't ask you that kind of questions they'll be like, where did you guys meet and when and how and what's your favourite food and they will ask maybe for photos before and after the marriage just to check if it's bona-fide.

I am sorry to hear that and I hope things will get better for you soon and you'll get a new job very very soon.

My case was pretty hard as well though, I'm a young father, just 20 and my wife is the same, she was pregnant when we came to the US, she wanted to have the baby here though, so she wasn't able to work and neither I, imagine how frustrated I felt, now the baby is 5 months old and she has to work for me, I feel like c**p but hey, that's all thanks to USCIS, they complain about illegal immigrants and when ppl like us try to do things the right way, they complicate us everything, now I wanna go back to Spain, haha.

    Good luck to you!
