  1. Any earnings over and above 5 pounds are deducted from single persons allowances. Job seekers allowance will be at a reduced rate.

    Persons considered to have children or a partner are allowed to earn 10 t0 15 pounds per week prior to deductions in some instances travel costs may be allowed.

    There is no such thing as paying you for days you do not work.

    All earnings apart from those listed are taken into consideration.

    You should read the paperwork and all the small print when you apply.

  2. Most probably, but it may be at a reduced rate because of his income. He does need to pop in and see.

    Or else you can check out this website for him

    www.entitledto.co.uk

  3. Tell him to go to the job centre and ask himself.

  4. Depends

    He will be entitled to register for JSA at the local jobcentre plus office. Getting paid any JSA will depend on his actual wage from the 8 hour job.

    At 19 he is entitled to JSA of 47.95, with his earning disregard he will be allowed to earn 5 per week before it affects his JSA payment. This means anything over 52.95 will mean he is not entitled to any JSA, undrer this earnings over 5 pounds will deducted pound from pound from his benefit

    This means that if he is getting NMW of 4.60 per = 36.80 per week less 5.00 disregard = 31.80

    JSA 47.95 less income of 31.80 = JSA paid at 16.15 per week

    He would have to make a Jobseeker agreement and agree that if a full time job comes up he will take it

  5. He may be entitled to Income Support, as he is working under 16 hours. Read here - http://www.adviceguide.org.uk/index/life...

  6. yes you can work up to 16 hours a week without your benefits being affected

  7. Yes, f you're out of work or working less than 16 hours a week on iaverage, you may be able to get Jobseeker's Allowance.

        * capable of working

        * available for work

        * actively seeking work

        * below state pension age
