I was thrown own of my house sunday night and was starting a new job tuesday. I am on job seekers allowence as I've just moved back to my home town from uni. My new job is only 10 hours a week and therefore I still need to claim job seekers but my money is £7.50 an hour so I get more than my job seekers money and don't want to sign anymore as it interfears with work but they say I still have too if I want to claim housing benifit for the hostel but I don't earn enough to stay at the hostel as a "worker". any way around all of this? I'm 20, single, work p.t and get paid monthly which comes too £300 and the rent is £800 a month for the hostel. if this makes any sence to anyone can you offer me your advice!!

  1. I know it seems stupid and that's because it is

they reward people who sit on their butts and don't do anything

and they mean it if you keep the job they will not help you with the   house

the only thing I can tell you is to find another job that pays enough for you to get by

I know that's easier said than done

your only other option is to remain on the job seekers benefits

Edit: oh wow you are really in a bind...do you know anyone else capable of taking over for you?
