Yankee fans ... after Mussina and Petitte, the Yankees don't have much else in their rotation. After reading this following rumour:

I've been very anxious to see if the Yankees will pick up AJ Burnett. Do you think it's time they'll do that, or at least pick up another pitcher?

  1. They can't trade for any pitchers, so I think they may bring up a pitcher from Triple A or sign a pitcher in free agency.

  2. I think Joba will be back, and Wang in September. However, the Yanks really need to win 2 of every 3 from here on out to make the playoffs.

  3. It was time for the Yankees to pick up another pitcher BEFORE Joba got hurt. Now every team out there knows we're desperate.

Tecnically, the Yankees could still trade, but the player would have to be placed on trade waivers. It could be messy. I see Burnett as virtually impossible.

I'm sure many Yankees fans want to kick the Mariners for being so demanding over Washburn.

It's looking like Wang will not be back at all this season. Joba's probably out for most, if not all of 2008. He has a shoulder injury and the Yankees still have not explained the full extent of the injury. It's got to be bad.

Kennedy will be called up to pitch. Don't expect to see Hughes until he's ready. Pavano make return and make at least a start. I wouldn't put it past him to get "hurt" again, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he pitched the rest of the season. Giese is going to get some time.

The Yankees will have to work through this somehow.

  4. They cant trade for a pitcher trade deadline has past. they will bring up a pitcher form the minors and at the end of the season they will sign a good pitcher during free agency

  5. There is no way the Jays will trade Burnett to a team in its own division. However, there is a chance that he just might pass through waivers .. he has an opt out clause in his contract for the end of this season. Any team looking for him for beyond this year might be hesitant to shell out the money for the rest of this year's salary only to have him walk on them in the off season.

If Seattle would smarten up and put their front office in order, they'd realize that Washburn should sail through waivers.

  6. The Blue Jays are going to want too much for Burnett, the Blue Jays are closer to the Yankees than the Yankees are to the Rays right now.  I doubt that deal would go through.  They will bring up Kennedy and cross their fingers Sidney Ponson can come through, at this point, their best bet is to score as much as possible and hope the pitching comes through, they won't get another high quality starter.

  7. The trade deadline is over. Ian Kennedy or Dan Giese will replace Joba until Joba comes back. Visit the link I'll give you below, hover over news, and click on probable pitchers. Then go back a few days. Most likely, Dan Giese replaced Joba, or Kennedy replaced Joba. One of them replaced Rasner, but I'm not sure which one.
