nope. that title belongs to rich harden. he averages the most strikeouts per nine innings in all of baseball and his ERA would be the second lowest in baseball if he pitched enough innings. his opponents batting average is second lowest behind his former mate, justin duchserer. but i honestly think joba chamberlain is the next roger clemens without the steroid accusations. joba is tremendously talented pitcher and will without a doubt be one of the most dominant starters in the next few years or so.

I don't think he has reached that level yet. I think once he gets settled in to his new role as a starter then he can be extremely good...but not right now. Right now it's Edison Volquez, or Brandon Webb

I love the way that some people deify players who do well for a short period.  I remember when Yankee fans were puttting Kevin Maas in the Hall Of Fame based on his first hundred at bats.

I am not saying Joba is bad or anything, just that he needs a little more of a track record before we ensconce him with the elite.

When Joba has had multiple dominant seasons like Pedro Martinez and Sandy Koufax then come to us with that question.

The kid has been around for less than a full season and has not dominated consistently.  

So the answer is an unequivocal "NO."

In my opinion Joba Chamberlian is not the most dominant pitcher in baseball. He is a very good pitcher. Sometimes he has very bad control problems and walks a few too many batters. His Era isnt that bad but its also not as good as it should be. I would say that Cliff lee is one of the most dominant pitchers.

Ok so your calling a guy that is just a young starter that is his first year starting in the MLB more dominant than pitchers like Johan Santana, Roy Halladay, CC Sabathia, Cliff Lee, Justin Duchscherer etc. Maybe when he is older and then he may not be.
