Jobs and work visa in Santiago, Chile

Question

Hello.

I was wondering if anybody had information or personal experience having to do with jobs for Bilingual (English-Spanish) and getting a work visa.

I've to the embassy and I understand the process of getting a visa... so what I would really like to know is if there are certain companies or business that hire foriegners and help them to get the visa. I want to do this legally, so please consider that in your answer.

As for my resume...

I am a native-English speaker and teach private English classes.

I have many years experience in the hospitality and tourism sector.

I have finished high-school but have no post-secondary education. (That last one seems to be the big hang-up!)

Any ideas?

Without a university degree or better, you cannot compete on world job markets, even in Chile.  International hotels want graduates of prestigious international hotel & restaurant managements schools such as Cornell U.  Tourism wants PR execs with prestigious backgrounds, connections and experience.  Schools want teachers with degrees. You cannot compete when there is a glut on the world market of experienced, degreed people.
