Jobs as an English language assistant in Italia?

Question

I know that there are government funded language assistant jobs in France and Spain (and various other countries), but I'm trying to figure out how/if that works for Italy. I know that you don't need any kind of teaching certificate in order to be a language assistant in France and Spain, but I have not run across anything in Italy that does not require a certificate of some sort.

I would like to be an english language assitants in Italy for a few months--> a year. I do not have a teaching certificate of any kind, and really don't want to get one. I wouldn't mind work in public schools or anything really. I've studied a bit of Italian and an a US citizen.

DO you know of anything? Or any very helpful resources?

hi, i' m italian and I live Italy. it's not so easy to find the job you mean. because you have to be qualified to do that. anyway what I recommend to you is going on the "italy answer " and ask there this same question.

In order to work as a teacher of languages (but this also applies to other subjects) in Italy you must have:

a degree

a post-degree diploma (and pass the final exam).

As regards trainingships- assistantships you must have a degree or be at the last year of university with good marks and pass a selection.

There are several funds from the EU or from the Ministero degli Affari Esteri.

You might try to work in a private school; in this case they mostly ask for experience or certificates (eg the tkt Cambridge exam for English).

What language(s) are you going to teach?

Why don't you want to get a certificate?

It will indeed be difficult to get the sort of job you mentioned. Especially if you are not a EU citizen it is even more difficult. There are plenty of teaching jobs but you need to be an EU citizen. Some people work illegally "in nero" but I really don't recommend that.
