Jobs at a vets (health and safety)?

hi, i have to produce a leaflet called two ways to do a job, but as a work experience student for 1 week at the vets i only did jobs like cleaning, adding appointments into the computer, checking if they had enougth stock etc. I have to write about a job i did and two ways of doing it, which is better way of doing it health and safety reasons etc. And I'm really stuck because I'm not sure how i would of done those jobs a different safer way.

Well, you could do a "worse way" part perhaps? If you always used gloves and had other things like that to prevent any contamination or injury, then that would be the only way to go. (What to do if there was a loose and/or aggressive dog, etc.) Was the computer system up to date and the system efficient? Other than that, it sounds like you had a nice place to do your student experience.

Well your first consideration in regards Health and Safety should be keeping your work area clean and safe for others to enter

you can also bring in the chemicals you used for cleaning and their problems if they had any both to you and your work friends and don't forget your fury friends

storage of the chemicals is also important and were the danger areas correctly sign posted ( you have a responsibility to ensure these too )

were correct signs used to mark the hazard of wet floors etc

Clerical work initially looks like it has no real dangers but you can bring in eye strain repetitive strain injury and the need to rest hands and eyes

You again need to keep your work area clear of hazards ( and no using your PC chair as a skate board )

the Facts you enter into the PC also need to be correct especially if customers are coming in for repeat prescriptions

I am sure if you just think around these idea's you will see others to expand it out a bit
