My husband and I are looking to relocate to the Raleigh/Durham area. Does anyone know what the job market is like for biologists? Husband has his Master's degree in molecular biology and has previously worked in Research and Development. Thanks!

  1. I would say there would be at least above average job availability in that field.  If you combine companies in Research Triangle Park as well as the Triangle-area cities of Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, there's bound to be a good deal.   Pharmaceuticals, Bio-tech, Chemical, and other similar types of companies have operations here.

Plus Raleigh is the state capital and several government departments (Agriculture, Health, Environment, etc) hire biologists.

And of course there are at least ten colleges & universities in the Triangle...I'd expect some job opportunties there, especially the larger ones that do grant-supported research.

I'd do some job hunting though...I would never recommend anyone to move here before they actually get a position secured.

  2. It's great Raleigh NC is the center
