Jobs for farangs in thailand?????

where do thais lie back and farangs come up in enginerring side.so that i can get my friend some advice to pursue his enginerring.he got loads of his family memebers in htialand but all are businessmen.

Any of the industrial areas of Thailand would be suitable for this:

Samut Prakhan and 304 industrial park both have a high number of manufacturing facilities where engineers, Thai and Farang alike go to find jobs.

EDIT: Weescot, I am not sure where you get your information from but I know several engineers at a plant in an industrial park and their pay is in the multiples of mine.  I suppose it is all relative but I think in Thailand, a salary in excess of 50,000 USD/ 1 year is more than decent.

Engineers should know the money jobs are near pattaya (there is an Australian petrolium company there building gas trains), 304 Industrial Park (has anything from plastic bottles to paper to japanese hi-tech circuitry).  Most of these companies pay their foriegn employees (or contactors- as is the case more often than not) at salaries that compare favorably to what they would make outside Thailand.

You probably won't find an engineering job in Thailand. The only jobs farangs ever get are teaching at international or English schools.

Engineering the salary is very low, if your going to be an Engineer you really have to be the owner of a company, that's probably why all his family are businessmen.

What about his family can they not give some advice?
