Any ideas for jobs for teens with social anxiety? I'm 16, Female, Home schooled. I want a job that i wouldn't have to interact with a lot of people? Especially people around my age. Young Kids and older adults I'm okay with...Any ideas i would love to hear.

I would love some advice from other people with social anxiety add my myspace - myspace.com/beatiinghearts

  1. When I was that age I worked in a library shelving books. Pretty good for social anxiety. You're mostly on you're own, but you get just enough interaction that you get some practice dealing with people.

You could just try a "flooding" job - like working as a receptionist or cashier. If you're brave enough for it, you'll get over your social anxiety faster. But if you're social anxiety is really severe, it could be too much for you.

  2. ebay, you'd never have to deal with people face to face.

  3. Wow, for one thing you're already home schooled. I think it would be GOOD for you to get out and be with other of people.

You have social anxiety because you don't put forth the effort to overcome it! -and having a job with nobody around will NOT help!

  4. I understand what you mean unlike the first answer. It is hard to give an answer not knowing how severe it is. With me, some days I'll volunteer to do anything, somedays I don't want to be bothered by anyone. In my highschool they call me an outcast but I just roll it off. Right now I volunteer at a hospital doing w/e they need done, whether it be moving a patient, holding a door or delivering mail/packages to patients in recovery. I'd send you a friend request on myspace but it says you need your last name/email so if you want mine it's in the source. Good luck to you, feel free to drop a line anytime you want to talk; any time of the day     : )
